The LT Green Room is a podcast for Renewal, Retooling and Conversations about Learning. It is co-hosted by Susan Manning and Dan Balzer and its show topics are often drawn from members of LearningTimes.org, a free online community of education and training professionals from across the globe. The LT Green Room gives listeners (and ourselves) an opportunity to reflect on what they're doing behind the scene that results in an effective learning experience.

I am in the academic environment right now as a student, but I am in school to become prepared for the coorperate world. My question is that after listening to the podcast, I am wondering if i am being prepared with the language of the academic world to only confuse people in the cooperate world when I use this vocabulary. I think it is important to adapt to a language that people will understand in the environment that you are working with otherwise what's the point of trying to teach something? Also, I feel that eventually these two languages will have to collide to become universal since people often go from one to the other, but for now I think that knowing what the acronyms or word usages stand for will help with that adaptation and make it easier to explain to people unfamiliar with the concepts.
